Heard David give the group an overview of the BAE Systems corporate objectives and describe the role of compliance and ethics in delivering those objectives. They also got involved in a debate started by Keith Read, Director of Regulatory compliance, BT, about using the 'Compliance covenant'.

David will give the group an overview of the BAE Systems corporate objectives and describe the role of compliance and ethics in delivering those objectives.

The group will then hear a detailed case study on the Ethics Programme in BAE Systems and how it carries out performance measurement through a practical and real system of monitoring, evaluating and reporting.

Debate started by Keith Read, Director of Regulatory compliance, BT, Using the 'Compliance covenant'.

A successful ethics programme is based on the development of an organisation that is aware of and understands cultural and behavioural elements such as diversity and inclusion and environmental sustainability.

Guests will hold a facilitated, open debate looking to agree best practice principles for performance management in ethics programmes, addressing the following questions:

  • Do regulators have a role to play in judging culture and ethics?
  • Can culture be regulated and how will it be tied into Anti Bribery and Corruption Legislation?
  • What is Best Practice in the design of Performance management regimes to deliver awareness of cultural issues and positive behaviour change?
